POSITION DESCRIPTION

**_ What’s the job?_**

Ensure the financial statement integrity and internal controls of the Fireproofing lines of businesses. Partner with the LOB management to provide timely and accurate data to support business decisions such as sourcing, pricing, and long-range planning. Participate in cross-functional teams throughout CertainTeed and Saint-Gobain Corporation.
- Ensure accuracy of financial statements of Fireproofing and Residential Roofing of GCP SBM NA businesses
- Drive profitability and growth of the Fireproofing line of Business of GCP SBM NA businesses through ownership of the financial analysis
- Manage the timely completion of the month-end financial close for three locations (Ajax, Ontario, Irondale, Alabama, and Santa Ana, California) plant plus physical/virtual warehouses.
- Demonstrate awareness of all elements of a location’s financial statements
- Own all elements of a location’s financial statements
- Prepare all post-closing location financial analysis, performance reports and commentary
- Prepare and coordinate the annual budget at the location level.
- Prepare, maintain and analyze product standard costs
- Support the analytical needs of the Commercial GM, and other financial management
- Partner with plant management to increase plant efficiency and profitability
- Prepare analysis to understand the financial ramifications of current and proposed business actions
- Identify issues and proactively initiate analyses / solutions to locations issues related to Fireproofing and Residential Roofing of GCP SBM NA businesses
- Ensure compliance with SGC and EPG policies and procedures
- Oversee and reconcile inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory
- Assist in preparation of capital appropriations requests including DAC.
- Track capital spending and capital project closures
- Track/review cost reduction projects and maintain required reporting
- Long Range Plan for Fireproofing and Residential Roofing of GCP SBM NA Businesses preparation and participation through analysis
- Ad hoc analysis

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- This position will need the capacity to meet the needs of a complex, diverse, dynamic and fast paced organization that will pose a wide variety of challenges from a business level. This position must answer these challenges quickly and accurately, keeping in mind the requirements from GAAP & IFRS. Although some challenges have standardized answers, many do not, and require creative thought and strong analytical skills to solve. Typically, these questions concern product profitability, inventory valuation, operational variances, location capacity, etc.
- Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA, CMA, or MBA preferable or equivalent, complementary work experience
- Minimum 3 years of progressive cost accounting and analysis experience with a major manufacturing organization. A strong emphasis should be put on knowledge of management accounting, cost and inventory accounting, and GAAP
