**Lead Painting Instructor - 2.5 month Contract**
**Women in Trades Program**
Purpose Construction is a non-profit social enterprise with a mission to provide trades training and employment opportunities for people with barriers to employment. We offer a range of construction skills training programs that work with Indigenous peoples, refugees, newcomer Canadians, people transitioning out of the child welfare and justice systems and members of the LGBBTQS2IA+ community, providing trades training and work experience on our commercial jobsites.
In January and February 2024 Purpose Construction will running a 2-month painting training course for refugee and Newcomer Canadian women. This training will be done on-the-job, with training program participants providing pro-bono painting services to local non-profit organizations.
Duties to include:
- Lead the delivery of a residential painting training program for 15 refugee women
- Adapt and deliver a supplied painting program curriculum
- Be comfortable working across language barriers in delivering program curriculum
- Provide instruction on site safety, safe workplace policies
- Ensure we are delivering a quality painting job for non-profits receiving donated painting services
- Liaising with client non-profits receiving painting services, maintaining a good relationship throughout the training program.
- Ensuring jobsite is set-up and ready in advance of program start at the beginning of each day, and is completely clean at the end of each day.
- Ensuring the delivery of a successful painting training program.
**Experience**:
- Previous painting experience required
- Previous experience training painters considered a strong asset
- Proficiency with painting tools and equipment required
- Attention to detail
- Good communication skills - experience working across language barriers considered a strong asset
- Experience with safe worksite protocols
**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2.5 months
**Salary**: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

- Winnipeg, MB R2W 3N5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
**Education**:
- Secondary School (preferred)
**Experience**:
- painting: 1 year (preferred)
