**Seasonal Groundsperson and Seasonal Gardener positions**

**Glen Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery**

Glen Oaks Funeral Home & Cemetery, located in Oakville, Ontario is currently recruiting for
**Seasonal / Student Groundsperson**, and **Seasonal / Student Gardener** positions.

This position is based on a **40-hour work week**, and may change as required for the needs of the business, including working of overtime when required. The starting wage for those with a valid driver’s license is **$18.25 / hour**

**(Seasonal Groundsperson)**
- All aspects of cemetery care including grass cutting and trimming
- customer service
- memorial and monument installations.

**(Seasonal Gardener)**
- Prepare beds for planting; plant annual flowers.
- Cultivate, edge, and water flower beds, trees and shrubs; remove weeds and dead plant material.
- Clip, prune and shape trees, bushes and hedges as required.
- Bring any insect infestation to the attention of the supervisor.
- Divide and transplant perennial plants.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities required for this role**:

- A team player, with a positive attitude and the ability to multitask and set priorities.
- Previous landscaping, horticultural and/or cemetery experience, and a demonstrated interest in working outdoors is an asset.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds.

**What you bring to the role**:

- Enthusiasm for working outdoors.
- Driver’s license
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Previous landscaping, horticultural and/or cemetery experience is nice to have.
- Heavy equipment operator training/certification is nice to have.
- Integrated Pest Management (IPM) certification is nice to have.
