Boom Truck Operator

The Drywall Boom Truck Operator is involved in the delivery of customer orders in the Drywall Distribution areas. The Operator is responsible for ensuring loads are properly secured and place on the deck of the boom truck. The Operator is required to operate a boom lift as a regular part of their duties, must have crane experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITILIES
- Duties Service customers within Igloo's customer service guidelines
- Deliver all customer orders as identified within daily delivery schedule.
- Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicle
- Perform pre-trip inspection of loaded product to confirm accuracy to order being delivered.
- When unloading trucks, ensure that product is placed in a safe area with customer needs taken into consideration.
- Conduct a site inspection according to Igloo delivery standards prior to dropping product off
- Maintain a solid understanding of General Contractor requirements for deliveries to their locations.
- Follow Igloo loading and unloading procedures to ensure products are safely secured.
- Record information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems encountered.
- Maintains delivery logbooks as required.
- May be responsible for coordinating the activity of a Swamper or second hand during deliveries.
Communicate with the area Shipper using cellular telephone or citizens' band (CB) radio regarding any customer orders and/or trucking issues.
- Maintain a clean and orderly truck at all time to portray a positive image for Igloo.
- Other duties as assigned.
B. Most difficult and/or complex aspects of the position:
- The Boom Truck Operator works from pre-defined documents with no variation. They will have a very strong need for accuracy and an ability to learn directions quickly as mistakes in this position will have effects throughout the system and to customer projects
QUALIFICATIONS
Training:
A. Provided on the job.
B. License(s)/Certificate(s): Class 3 Drivers License is required.
C. Experience: Must have substantial crane experience
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/UNIQUE ASPECTS OF JOB:
Physical Exertion: Position requires to frequently get in and out of a truck or van. Incumbent is required to be able to lift a minimum of 25lbs up to 80lbs to perform job safely. Position is also repetitive in nature.
