Salary Range: $75,000 to $90,000 - based on experience

**PURPOSE OF POSITION**

Shall, in the performance of duties, respect and protect human dignity and maintain and uphold the human rights of all persons.

**SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Collect, analyze and interpret data and information related to criminal activity that is obtained from diverse sources for the purpose of advancing investigations, producing leads and identifying operational priorities.
- Develop, maintain, update and oversee a database structure, including all related software, that will facilitate intelligence information management and analysis.
- Perform audits on software and databases to ensure compliance with rules, regulations, procedures and retention policies.
- Develop intelligence information through analysis to assist investigators and management with strategic and tactical decisions, resource allocation and investigative techniques.
- Prepare reports and submissions, including the Provincial Threat Assessment, for the Criminal Intelligence Service of Ontario (CISO), as required.
- Prepare analytical reports using intelligence software to identify patterns and trends with data that is obtained from Transmission Data Recorders (TDR), Part VI investigations and tracking devices.
- Prepare intelligence and analytic products which may include, but not limited to, bulletins, association charts, production order, maps and other various products as required.
- Add intelligence reports, subscriber information and final TDR/Part VI reports to iBase.
- Generate entities and links within databases to identify associations that aid in information collection and intelligence development.
- Liaise with external partners and agencies to share intelligence related to criminal activity.
- Ensure confidentiality of information by monitoring quality, validity and security of records to ensure intelligence integrity.
- Prepare all required information for Court proceedings and attend meetings with Crown Attorney(s) to provide information and support to facilitate the presentation of data and intelligence information; and testify in court as required.
- Deliver presentations pertaining to intelligence information and analysis to members of the Brantford Police Service or partner agencies as required.
- Carry out duties in accordance with the applicable policy and procedures
- Be accountable to supervision.
- Perform such other duties as are lawfully assigned.

**Knowledge**
- A thorough understanding of the intelligence gathering processes and principles
- A thorough understanding of police investigations
- Knowledge of operational, tactical and strategic analytical methods
- Knowledge of open source (including social media) intelligence information
- Knowledge of key issues associated with organized crime, major crime and extremist/terrorism activities.
