**SEASONAL FARM LABOURER**

Planting seed potatoes is a dynamic activity that requires communication and teamwork to successfully and safely complete on time. The detail and quality of the planting job is critical for the year round success of the operation.

The role of the Nova Scotia operation is to multiply seed potatoes for one season as part of a vertically integrated program to supply processing potatoes for two Cavendish Farms French fry plants on PEI.

Our planting season starts **mid-April to end of June for approximately 6-8 weeks** and is heavily influenced by the weather. Our team must work together in a safe manner to complete the work.
- Must have valid driver’s license
- Availability to work extended hours, evenings and weekends
- Ability to work independently and in a fast paced team environment
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- High degree of attention to detail and demonstrated ability to multi-task
- Mechanical aptitude and previous experience working in farm operations preferred but not required

**Key responsibilities**:

- Equipment operation including farm tractors, forklift, skid steer loader, potato handling equipment
- Planting potatoes
- Basic equipment repairs and preventative maintenance
- All other duties as assigned
