**Full Time CYC Support Position - Kindergarten**

**Roles and Responsibilities**:

- Providing direct support for regulation, classroom participation and school readiness skills to one Kindergarten student.
- Collaborating with the homeroom teachers to ensure consistency of approach.
- Providing reinforcement of academic and social skills.
- Supporting self-care skills such as toileting.
- Experience providing social / emotional support.
- Experience as a co-regulator.
- A passion for learning about the best approaches for working with exceptional children.
- Maintaining productive working habits and discipline in the classroom.
- Discussing students’ progress with parents and guardians, administrators and other professionals as necessary.
- Other duties as required

**Knowledge, Skills and Attributes**
- Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
- Post Secondary Education in child and youth work, education, early childhood education, etc.
- Experience working in a Special Education environment
- Experience working with Kindergarten aged children
- Evidence of building a strong rapport with children and parents
- Demonstrates patience and flexibility
- Has an aptitude for differentiated learning styles and approaches.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of the teaching team.
- Demonstrates a passion for ongoing learning and professional development.
- Has a creative approach, engaging students with a range of learning styles
- Ability to work flexibly and to adapt in a constantly changing and thriving environment.
- Demonstrated talent for coaching, mentoring and inspiring students.
- Proven ability to develop smooth, collaborative working relationships with parents and colleagues.
- Evidence of strong written and oral communication and organizational skills.
- Experience using differentiated learning strategies.

**Salary**: Hourly between $22 - $32 / hour

**Hours**: 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 3 months

**Salary**: $22.00-$32.00 per hour
