**The Opportunity**:
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform and review data and conduct analyses for complex, multi-discipline mining projects, including water management, geochemical characterization and modelling, and water quality assessments for all mine development and operations stages.
- Technical writing and complex data analysis.
- Review and manage written document production.
- Prepare for and participate in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other relevant parties.
**Key Qualifications, Education, and Skills**:
- A university degree (or equivalent education) in a science or engineering field of geochemistry, geology or earth sciences.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience or equivalent, preferably in environmental consulting and/or a mining company
- A valid professional designation in Ontario or Quebec or qualification for professional registration in the future.
- Knowledge and experience in acid rock drainage, metal leaching and mine waste geochemistry assessment.
- Experience with geochemical sampling design and optimization, water and rock sample collection, and mine waste geochemistry analysis analytical methods.
- Experience with geochemical and water quality modelling using industry-standard software/codes (e.g., PhreeqC, GoldSim, FeFlow-piChem, CE-QUAL-W2 etc.).
- Knowledge of regulatory processes related to the mining industry is considered an asset.
- Ability to succeed in a consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting deadlines, and travelling to client facilities as needed.
- Positive attitude, teamwork and problem-solving skills are essential.
- Excellent safety record with the ability to demonstrate safety leadership.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required. The ability to write professional technical reports is paramount.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to travel locally and across the country on an occasional basis.
- Ability to work independently in the office and in the field.
- Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset.
