UPP has adopted a Hybrid Work Model which allows staff the flexibility to work remotely with the opportunity to work in person at the office ~2 days a week. Our office is located in downtown Toronto.
**THE ROLE**
We are actively looking for an Intern Analyst, Investments (Public Markets), to join our team in May 2023, for a 4-month internship (May 2023 - August 2023) or 8-month internship (May 2023 - December 2023). The incumbent will be responsible for helping support and develop the management of the public markets portfolio, with a specific focus on building, improving and data feeding monitoring tools. This role will be involved in manager review and due diligence meetings.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an undergraduate or graduate student to gain valuable work experience in a fast-growing, dynamic environment while being a part of a new pension plan.
**SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES**:
- Analyze and assess detailed manager and financial information
- Perform quantitative analysis on managers to inform manager evaluation and portfolio construction
- Participate in manager review and due diligence meetings
- Partner with other members of the Investment team to assist in documentation review, systems setup, implement business processes and technology solutions
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support key investment decisions
**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**:
- Pursuing an undergraduate or Masters’ degree, in Business, Commerce, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
- Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education
- Proficient in Python and advanced skills in Excel
- Passion for finance/investment
