The Payroll Administrator / Human Resources Generalist will be responsible for carrying out all activities related to the processing of payroll and other payroll functions as well as providing transactional HR support. They will assist with the development and implementation of policy, recruitment, orientation and training, benefits, health and safety and other areas as directed. They will support Human Resources processes by handling a variety of administrative duties and provide information and support to the HR department and employees.

**MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Accurately review and process payroll in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
- Process statutory remittances benefit premium calculations, pension remittances and year-end reporting within strictly mandated timelines
- Process various regulatory reporting including ROEs, WSIB remittances and wage garnishments
- Verify completed payrolls and review reports for accuracy and completeness
- Accurately record and maintain employee records and payroll information to ensure proper administration and adherence company policies
- Ensure accurate tax payment for all payroll activities and maintain a thorough understanding of statutory requirements for all federal and provincial tax agencies
- Ensure accuracy of additional payments including, profit sharing and bonus payments
- Assist with the administration of benefits and RRSP plan including payroll deductions and adjustments.
- Assist in development and implementation of human resources and health & safety procedures and handbooks
- Assist in ensuring compliance with relevant employment and occupational health and safety legislation and WSIB processes
- Provide support in the development and implementation of programs to ensure organization wide compliance with policies, procedures and applicable regulations
- Support ongoing documentation of training procedures and workflows
- Assist in development, implementation and facilitation of employee orientation, on-boarding and training programs
- Support maintenance and implementation of HR policies, procedures, memorandums and formal communications to employees
- Respond to internal and external Human Resources related inquiries from employees, department managers, executive and other parties
- Assist with regular research and compliance initiatives regarding Human Resources issues

**TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE**:

- Human Resources Management or Payroll diploma preferred.
- 3-5 years' experience in a HR or Payroll role required.
- Proven ability to build strong working relationships.
- Experience with payroll systems

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Certified Human Resource Professional (CHRP) and Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation, or working towards
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft 365
- Experience with Powerpay - Ceridian
