**We are a wholesale greenhouse growing and shipping perennials and seasonal annuals for independent garden centre and landscape trade of Southern/Central Ontario.**

**Greenhouse Worker/ Order Picker - College/University Student (10 positions)**

**6-8 week positions: Late April-mid June. These positions work well for students working with children/lifeguarding** **in the summer months and need something to fill in before the elementary schools are out.**

**Full summer positions :Late April - August or can be extended to October if not going back to school. An exact end date can be flexible to your schedule.**

**Early Seasonal positions: Start mid-late March. Typically students who finished grade 12 in January waiting to start University/College in September.**

**Start as early in April as possible - by or before April 25 preferred.**

Hours are full time. 7am-4:30pm (or later) April/May Monday to Saturday. Normal end time is 5:30-6pm in May. 7:00am-3:30pm June to August with the occasional time we stay later to finish orders.

This position involves pulling plant orders which entails reading a picking slip, finding the plant required, choosing the best plants available, cleaning the plants, picking the plants up from ground level and place on movable racks. When not doing orders you could be planting, tagging, supporting a moving transplant line or moving plants around the greenhouses as required.

**Requirements**:
Start as early in April as possible - by or before April 25 preferred.

Must be able to bend to ground level, lift from ground level, and walk continuously all day long.

Must be able to maintain a reasonable steady pace.

Must be able to deal with all that is nature - hot/cold, wet/dry, bugs, sun, dirt etc. You will get your hands dirty.

Must be willing to work in all weather conditions inside and out. Greenhouses are not air conditioned.

Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently.

Must be able to count and be able to multiply/divide by 8 and 6.

Good memory skills are an asset.

Must have your own transportation to and from work. There is NO public transit in the area.

$16.00/hour

All applicants will require an interview. Interviews are in person at the greenhouses and can be set during your reading week or any weekday. There are no Saturday interviews available until April.
