**OUR MAINTENANCE TEAM**

Our Maintenance Team is growing Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, our team members adapt on a daily basis to the varied and fluctuating needs of the school. If you are a problem-solver who enjoys working with your hands and you are eager to demonstrate your abilities and learn new skills in all matters of building repair and facility maintenance, this is the opportunity you’ve been searching for

**MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT & JUNIOR MAINTENANCE ASSISTANT**

**Salary equivalent to $19-$23 per hour (depending on experience) + full benefits package**

**MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN**

**Salary equivalent to $24 to $27 per hour (depending on experience) + full benefits package**

**ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES**

Our Maintenance Team members are responsible for tasks including:

- Repair and maintenance assignments throughout the Shawnigan campus
- Performing safety checks to school equipment and systems
- Completing tasks in lighting, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, painting, furniture assembly and repairs, floor covering, HVAC and equipment maintenance
- Providing support for event setups and teardowns
- Assembly and disassembly of office and residential furnishings and fixtures
- Moving furniture and household items in and between residences
- Unloading, loading, and securing incoming and outgoing materials and supplies
- Performing jobsite cleanup and equipment handling
- Retrieving, distributing, and monitoring recyclables and waste
- Performing snow removal and other seasonal landscaping responsibilities (when needed)
- Performing other duties as required

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Minimum valid class 5 BC driver's license, with standard transmission experience preferred
- Experience with hand tools, electric tools, hand carts, and furniture dollys
- Basic mechanical and problem solving skills, with some industrial work experience
- Able to work collaboratively with maintenance team members and colleagues from across school departments, as well as outside contractors and vendors
- A flexible mindset, with a willingness to take on new tasks and to learn new skills
- Self-motivated and independent, with a proven ability to work without supervision
- Able to work in variable climate conditions, indoors and outdoors, with and around various machinery
- Certificate of Qualification and/or Red Seal an asset
- Certifications in forklift, boom lift, scissor lift, fall arrest, and WHMIS an asset
