Pacific Rim Laboratories is an ultra-trace organic laboratory specializing in the analysis of dioxins, PCBs and other persistent organic pollutants by high resolution mass spectrometry. We are looking for dynamic and energetic individuals to join our growing company.

**Position**: LC-MS/MS Operator

**Education Required**: BSc. with three years related work experience or MSc with 1 years related work experience

**Training Required**:
Minimum 1 year operation of an LC-MS/MS

**Job Description & Responsibilities**:

- Analysis of PFAS, Hexabromocyclododecane (HBCD) and other persistent organic pollutants by LC-MS/MS.
- Review current and emerging methodology and policies to improve efficiencies and enhance the quality of results.
- Maintain detailed records of all new methodologies developed, including the rationale, process, and outcomes, to facilitate knowledge transfer and support SR&ED.
- Data processing, interpretation of data and validation of results.
- Troubleshooting and detailed maintenance of instruments and equipment.
- Maintain instrument logs.
- Participate in accreditation, certification and proficiency testing programs.
- Document research for inspection and review by external authorities.
- Review and remain up to date on all testing methods and protocols.
- Other duties in support of laboratory needs.

**Skills**:

- Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills are a must.
- Fundamental understanding of LC-MS/MS operation and analytical chemistry
- Preferable knowledge of method development and validation
- Computer and organizational skills
- Flexibility and willingness to accept additional responsibilities
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Have a sense of urgency and able to work under time constraints
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of quality standards and data validation criteria

**Salary**:
The base salary range for this role is $60,000 to $90,000 CAD. Base salary is determined by a combination of factors including, but not limited to, education and other qualifications, years of relevant experience, and internal equity.
