**I Overall Objective**

The Offset operator is key position in the organization who will be responsible for setting up and operating the press, monitoring the printing process, and troubleshooting any issues that arise, assemble, bind, and finish all of the components to complete a job while allowing sufficient time for the order to be delivered. The Offset Operator possesses enough knowledge to operate Lintec’s printing offset equipment safely and efficiently with mínimal assistance; s/he. The Offset Operator is responsible to prioritize daily production and organize materials needed for the job, using materials & time responsibly to avoid delays.

**II Experience Required**
- 3-5 years of bindery/print machine relevant experience
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Experience in using glue system and water scores
- Ability to both set up and run all jobs assigned
- Sharp attention to detail coupled with a strong mechanical aptitude
- Knowledge of printing shop activities such as printing, cutting/shearing, drilling, plate making, etc.
- Good problem solving skills and ability to multi-task
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- High School Diploma preferred.

**III Education**

Any trade education, no license is needed. Graphic design (ideal but not required)

High school completion.

**IV Duties and Responsibilities**

1. Read docket thoroughly for instructions; ensure all elements of the job are readily available. Have a clear understanding of post-press processes needed to be done to ensure compliance with production order (ticket).

2. Efficient / proper wash-up, storage of removable equipment, plates and tooling.

3. Complete a press proof which matches the signed of target or client sample. Ensure all checks are made and cross checked.

4. Ensure continuity of quality throughout run in accordance with-in house procedure.

5. Responsible for folding, cutting, hole punching, coiling, packing and shipping as well as other hand work duties as needed.

6. Document any and all changes needed for repeat runs to ensure revision of docket and information is maintained. Keep run samples in docket to ensure press checks are completed. Monitor of consumables and bindery supplies and inventory levels.

7. Maintain production, a clean orderly work bench and press environment.

Additionally, the Press Operator should possess experience in
- Operation of Hiedelbarg Printmaster, Punch and Quillmaster or equivalent as well as able to make required plates and operate other ancillary equipment such as shrink wrap
- Use of inks. Colour matching process and spot colours.
- Prioritize workflow and able to communicate effectively with others.
- Must be able to follow standard operating procedures and quality checks.
- Knowledge to pre stage all elements of print production. Quality controls and lean manufacturing
- Provide basic maintenance to the equipment of the section
- Any other as required.

**V Hours of Work**:
Monday to Friday day shift 7am to 3:30pm

Monday to Thursday afternoon shift 3pm to 1:30am

With the flexibility of rotating to either shift

Flexibility required for both hours and duties

**Salary**: $18.00-$24.00 per hour
