**Job Summary**

Are you looking to utilize your skills to support CNL’s mission of leveraging our nuclear decommissioning and waste management capabilities for commercial success in Canadian and international markets?

If yes, Canadian Nuclear Laboratories requires a Commercial Section Lead to work within Waste Services to support its Environmental Remediation Management (ERM) commercial work portfolio. The Commercial Section Lead will act as the ambassador/liaison between the ERM technical service departments (falling under Deputy VP Integrated waste Services and Fuel Programs), Commercial Delivery branch, Business Development, and Science and Technology division to support the implementation of business development strategies, proposals/bids, and commercial contract execution. The position will also support applicable divisions/branches in the execution of strategic projects to support the improvement of service execution for CNL and commercial clients.

**What will you be doing**

The Commercial Section Lead will support the Director, Waste Technical Services and Manager, ERM Commercial Delivery in meeting commercial commitments efficiently and safely. The Commercial Section Lead will utilize hard-skills and project management abilities to support all commercial facets as they relate to ERM’s waste services and fuel programs.

**FUNCTION 1**: Oversee commercial contract execution in the areas of Integrated Waste Services and Fuel Programs
- Responsibility 1a: Be assigned the Technical Lead ‘Sponsor’ for Commercial Contracts within their applicable ERM function area. This results in identifying the appropriate technical SME teams to execute on commercial contract deliverables; ensuring resources are available from applicable ERM line managers. Oversee the delivery of medium-risk commercial projects to meet schedule, cost, quality and safety objectives to the full satisfaction of customers.
- Responsibility 1b: As project issues arise, lead the implementation of solutions working with applicable ERM Line Managers, technical team, and project lead
- Responsibility 1c: Responsible for gaining approval for project budgets and schedules and approving changes to scope of work within project management guidelines.
- Responsibility 1d: Support Project Leads as required when reporting project performance to clients, management and other stakeholders

**FUNCTION 2**:Support Business Development in proposals and sales opportunities
- Responsibility 2a: Pull together technical details to support commercial bids in support of ERM Commercial work.
- Responsibility 2b: Partake as business representative with whom a client has one-on-one interaction (i.e., participate in technical ‘pitches’ on ERM core and niche services for their applicable ERM area; Identify new sales opportunities).
- Responsibility 2c: Assembles a preliminary project team and lead/approve cost estimating to execute for proposals.
- Responsibility 2d: Interact and coordinate with the Business Development and other staff members in other departments.
- Responsibility 2e: Develops cost model for services.

**FUNCTION 3: Support implementation of longer term strategic, tactical milestones**
- Responsibility 3a: Support implementation and commissioning of new infrastructure or services within Integrated Waste Services and Fuel Programs. This may involve business case development, resource development and planning, and project oversight for ERM mission projects to ensure cohesive alignment with ERM mission work and commercial opportunities.
- Responsibility 3b: Obtain a very thorough understanding of all aspects and key personnel in applicable ERM areas.
- Responsibility 3c: Support implementation and execution of Business Development Strategy and tactical milestones

**What we are looking for**:
**Education**:

- University degree or college diploma from an accredited school in a field of sciences, engineering, or other relevant field.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and/or industry certification in earned value management (EVMP, EVMD, EVMO) are considered an asset.

**Experience**:

- 5 - 10 years of increasing responsibility and relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Examples include relevant experience in contract/account, project management and/or demonstrate management and execution of technical projects of increasing complexity
- 3 - 5 years of leadership and/or supervisory experience, or the ability to motivate others to perform to expectations would be an asset.
