The internationalization specialist supports the activities of Durham College’s education abroad program, specifically assisting in the development and logistics of delivery for pre-departure and re-entry activities for faculty, staff and students; and travel logistics for outgoing and incoming groups. The incumbent will play a role in the logístical aspect of education abroad partnership tracking and renewals.

In addition, the incumbent will assist supporting education abroad social media and provide metrics on social media. This position will also support internationalization event planning logistics for engagement activities for education abroad students.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Supporting DC’s education abroad program:

- Provide information to students regarding education abroad opportunities, policies and procedures for DC students learning abroad.
- Liaise with international departments of partner institutions to implement education abroad activities including facilitating the arrival and departure of incoming and outgoing students.
- Support international partners on semester abroad agreements, and student advisors on the semester abroad program.
- Support the development of education abroad materials including guidelines, website content, social media, presentations, feedback forms and print material.
- Provide metrics on education abroad participants and maintain a current tracking sheet on participants.
- Reconcile education abroad invoices.

Supporting education abroad partnership logistics:

- Assist in the development and tracking of education abroad General Agreements of Cooperation (GAC) and Memoranda of Understanding (MOU) with the director, coordinator and with counterparts at international partner institutions to facilitate their timely completion and renewal.
- Provide metrics on student participants/engagement to international education abroad partners.

Supporting social media:

- Develop engaging content (including graphics) for upcoming events and activities.
- Provide metrics on social media activities and create relevant social media content.
- Monitor the office’s education abroad social media accounts and offer constructive interaction with followers in a timely manner.
- Other duties as assigned, including supporting the International Student Support & Engagement team.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
1. A minimum of a 3-year diploma/degree equivalent in International or related studies, such as International Business, Project Management, Globalization Studies.

2. A minimum of 1 year of work experience in a role directly supporting education abroad or global learning.

3. The ability to work effectively with a culturally diverse clientele and communicate effectively across cultures

4. Thorough knowledge of Microsoft 365 and excellent knowledge of social media platforms, with the ability to skillfully use social media tools.

5. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Fluency in another language is an asset.

6. Knowledge of the college and college programs, strong interpersonal, intercultural, organizational, communication and project-management skills, and the ability to maintain confidentiality
