Bell Captain

Hotel Grand Pacific is seeking a Bell Captain to join our Guest Services team on a full-time, permanent basis. An independent property located in Victoria’s beautiful inner harbour, we offer a more personalized experience focused on guest satisfaction.

Shift times will vary between the below:

- 6:30am-3pm
- 11am-7:30pm
- 2:30pm-11pm

**Duties**:

- Proactively greet all arriving and departing guests
- Assist guests with luggage, including storage and transportation to rooms
- Carry out valet parking duties in a safe and responsible manner
- Assist guests with queries, including taxi bookings and local recommendations
- Address and follow up on any guest concerns
- Train Bell staff on duties and provide coaching when required
- Assign daily tasks and help oversee shift responsibilities, including implementing procedures and practices
- Maintain a safe, tidy and welcoming lobby area, ensuring that any hazards or accidents are reported promptly
- Act as an ambassador for the Hotel, maintaining professionalism in all interactions and high standards of personal presentation.
- Assist the front office management as required.

**What We’re Looking For**:

- At least 2 years of recent bell experience in a full-service hotel
- Clean and valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
- Proven experience training Bell staff
- Approachable, positive, and outgoing personality
- Positive and effective verbal communication skills
- Attentive and observant with a high level of initiative and organization
- Solid knowledge of Greater Victoria’s attractions and culinary offerings
- Comfortable standing for prolonged periods
- Able to comfortably lift up to 50 pounds
- Able to operate both automatic and manual transmission
- Accountable and professional with a high level of integrity

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.78 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
