Census Enumerators

The Town of Sylvan Lake is seeking 12 people to fulfill the temporary duties of door-to-door
Census Enumerators for the 2024 Municipal Census.

Census Day is April 15, 2024. The timeframe for these positions will be from April 15 - July 15,
2024.

census enumeration. Enumerators will drop off information to every residence in their area and
follow up with those residents who do not complete their census online.

Interested applicants must:

- Be available to work from April 15 - July 14, 2024 (hours required are flexible and may

vary)
- Attend 3-hour training on Thursday April 4, 2024, from 5:00 - 8:00 PM
- Collect confidential information from all dwellings within an assigned census area
- Deliver all secure access codes (SAC) to dwellings between April 15 - 20, 2024
- Work flexible hours including days, evenings, and weekends to complete their census

Qualifications:

- Moderate to advanced computer/technology skills as smart devices (tablet or phone) are

the primary tool used to enumerate
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be detail oriented
- This position requires a significant amount of walking in various weather conditions
- The ability to work unsupervised

Compensation will be provided upon completion of the enumeration period, after July 15, 2024.

Census enumerators can anticipate earning an estimated average of $600 to $1,200 dependent
upon their assignments and completion.
