**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**POSITION**:Taproom Supervisor

We’re looking for a Supervisor with full time availability to help support our taproom team on
Spring Garden Road, in Halifax. The Taproom Supervisor will deliver a memorable guest experience while keeping retail operations in ship shape.

This role requires strong customer service skills, a passion for craft beer, and the ability to make solid team decisions in real time. Reporting to the Taproom Manager, this role provides a chance to gain experience supervising a team, including regular serving opportunities.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Ensuring a stellar guest experience:

- Assisting customers with inquiries (in person and by phone), tastings, food & beverage service
- Welcoming and serving customers warmly
- Facilitating event scheduling and preparation - including setting up décor, arranging the menu, and anticipating staffing needs - making sure events run as smooth as our _Vanilla Porter_.
- Retail store maintenance and supervision:

- Merchandise and product inventory, managing supplies for the retail store
- Supporting sales, merchandising, and promotion initiatives
- Accuracy in transactions; completing retail sales, cashiering, and shift cash-outs
- Maintaining our presentation as fresh, clean and crisp as our _Dirty Blonde_
- Team leadership:

- Supporting shift responsibilities of taproom team members
- Communicating openly with the team and Taproom Manager
- Upholding health & safety guidelines at all times
- Consideration of the environmental impact of all decisions
- Seeking out collaboration with other Nine Locks team members, as balanced as our _‘The IPA’_
- Assist the Taproom Manager with:

- Completing monthly inventory reports
- Team leadership and training opportunities (beer appreciation, product knowledge, health and safety, service standards, etc.)
- Maintaining POS and software systems
- Social media coordination; creating exciting, eye catching social media posts
- Events and reservations; ensuring a smooth and outstanding experience
- Other duties and projects, as needed

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- 1-2+ years supervisory experience in a bar or restaurant setting
- Extensive knowledge of the craft beer industry and a passion for all things beer
- Team oriented, flexible, and solutions-focused
- Excellent interpersonal skills, and a curiosity that leads to making connections
- Full time availability, including evenings. weekend and holiday shifts

**Salary**: $16.00-$19.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Evening shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- Weekend availability
