Freight Handler

**Freight Handler Opportunity**

We are looking for a detail-oriented freight handler to assist our cross-docking team. In this role, your duties will include moving freight to designated locations in the facility, maintaining freight records, and assisting with the loading and unloading of goods.

You should demonstrate extensive experience in freight handling and have sound knowledge of workplace safety.

This shift is 8 AM to 5 PM Monday to Friday.

**Freight Handler Responsibilities**:

- Loading, unloading, and moving freight between delivery and storage areas as required.
- Coordinating the movement of freight with other workers.
- Scanning or documenting freight, as well as marking items with identifying information.
- Moving freight manually or with specialized machinery, such as forklifts, pallet jacks and hand carts..
- Stacking freight at specified locations using boards or pallets.
- Preventing damage to transported freight by using available dunnage and straps.
- Adhering to weight restrictions, as well as stabilizing and guiding lifted freight with slings.
- Maintaining records of the number of units handled per day, as well as their location and condition.
- Performing prescribed safety checks on freight handling equipment and adhering to safety regulations.

**Freight Handler Requirements**:

- Read and write English
- Forklift Certification preferred.
- 2 years of experience as a freight handler in a similar industry is given preference.
- Maintaining accurate freight records
- Ability to adhere to safety regulations and promote a safe work environment.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $37,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
