We are searching for a Bookkeeper with payroll experience for one of our values clients.

Our client specializes in providing both temporary and permanent staffing solutions across a number of segments in Canada and the United States. The business supports various globally recognized brands by providing reliable workforce solutions according to their real-time needs.

Prasad & Company LLP is a public accounting firm based in Thornhill with a secondary location in Vancouver. Our Firm offers a full range of services including business advisory, assurance, tax preparation, and estate and business succession planning. We recently added HR Recruitment and IT Services.

**Responsibilities**:

- Process weekly payroll for all hourly employees (1000+ processing weekly)
- Review payroll calculated for accuracy, making any corrections necessary
- Maintain payroll master files and provide payroll information where needed
- Prepare month-end payroll journal entries
- Prepare monthly statutory filings
- Prepare year-end statutory reconciliations
- Maintain knowledge of current payroll related legislation to ensure compliance
- Provide details and supporting documents and reconciliations for all payroll related audits
- Ensure all internal controls around payroll processes are maintained and updated as required
- Assist on special projects as they relate to the payroll function
- Assist Controller with full-cycle bookkeeping tasks including but not limited to: AP/AR oInvoicing oJournal entries
- Bank and credit card reconciliation
- Weekly, monthly, yearly reporting
- Preparing and filling GST/HST
- Preparing financial statements

**Requirements**:

- A college diploma in business, payroll, or finance studies
- At least 3 years of experience working in an accounting firm, bookkeeping firm or large organization with multiple line of business is required
- Experience in processing government remittances
- Experience using QuickBooks, and an understanding of GST/HST
- Demonstrated knowledge of payroll and payroll tax laws is required
- Computer literacy, including effective working skills of MS Word and Excel, is required
- PCP designation with the Canadian Payroll Association is an asset
- Experience in processing payroll for a large group (500+) is an asset
- Effective communication skills with individuals at all levels of the organization
- Experience working with ATS platforms and being tech-savvy is an asset

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $60,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
