AutoVIN Canada, a subsidiary of OPENLANE, is a company that provides best-in-class services in the automotive industry, primarily end-of-lease inspection, collision damage appraisal and virtual appraisal. Our business partners come mainly from the insurance industry, our sister companies and the majority of vehicle manufacturers, in addition to the recognized financial institutions.

AutoVIN Canada is currently looking for a **Collision Appraiser (contractor / piece-rate)** in the **Oshawa**, Ontario region.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Conduct field inspections to evaluate physical (and minor mechanical) damages to all makes and models of cars.
- Complete, accurate appraisals for insurance companies (according to the specifications of each insurer), as well as for clients and internal requests.
- Must have a good sense of communication since records can be assigned with the insured or repair shop as needed.
- When applicable, prepare total loss evaluations.
- When necessary, conduct re-inspections to ensure satisfactory completion of repairs.
- Answer customers’ questions and be able to explain repair needs of the vehicles.
- Sustain open and effective communication and provide exemplary customer service to both external and internal customers.
- Master current knowledge of collision damage appraisals in the insurance market.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Have a strong background in collision repair and/or collision estimating.
- Comprehensive knowledge of auto insurance industry and repair procedures.
- Possess excellent time management and organization skills.
- Have great verbal and written communication skills along with customer service skills.
- Estimating Software (Audatex and Michell) experience as well as familiarity with MS Office.
- Prepared to do local travelling.
- Have a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory standing.
- Willing to work in various weather conditions.
- Possess his own vehicle.
