This opportunity is with our Good Shepherd - **Family Centre**

**Hours of Work**: Monday - Friday, 5 days/week; 8 hour shifts; 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.

**Starting Date**: ASAP

**How You Will Make an Impact**

The Janitor enhances the dignity and quality of life of our clients through cleaning services. You will support our emergency shelter team by maintaining cleaning products and supplies, keeping common spaces clean, and assisting with unit turnovers. Additional responsibilities include completing house laundry, ordering cleaning supplies, and sorting garbage and recycling. You will extend hospitality to all co-workers and residents by maintaining the safety and security of the facility.

**What You'll Bring to Our Team**
- High School Education preferred
- Experience in a social service or not for profit setting preferred
- Knowledge of WHMIS and routine practices for infection prevention and control
- Comfortable communicating with shelter residents
- Ability to communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and team members
- Fluency in a 2nd language is an asset
- CPR certification or willingness to be certified is required
- Evidence of self-motivation, enthusiasm, and flexibility
