Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.


**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Manager - Recruitment & Retention, the Recruitment & Retention Officer is responsible for the coordination of the recruitment, recognition and retention activities throughout Southern Health-Santé Sud including the development, implementation, and evaluation of the recruitment strategies for the region. The position is also involved in the other functional areas of human resource management, such as labour relations, compensation and benefits, occupational health and safety, HRIS and staff development.

The incumbent exercises a high level of initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods to be employed, and action to be taken on unusual matters. The position functions in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values; and the policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.

**Qualifications**:

- Proficiency of both official languages is essential (English/French)
- Business Administration or Human Resources Management Certificate OR Baccalaureate degree in the area of Human Resources; a combination of post-secondary education and experience relevant to the position may be considered
- Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in recruiting, preferably in a healthcare environment
- Working knowledge of current immigration laws and experience recruiting foreign workers including preparation of documents for citizenship and immigration an asset
- Demonstrate good analytical skills with the ability research, interpret information, and offer recommendations and/or interpretation
- Familiarity with collective agreements and legislative requirements
- Proficiency with computerized information systems including Microsoft based programs and social media platforms.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrate effective problem solving, organizational and leadership skills
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills to guide independent decision-making within scope of position
- Demonstrate ability to maintain positive working relationships within a multi-disciplinary environment, including external agencies
- Demonstrate ability to establish and determine priorities and deadlines, as well as flexibility in adjusting to changing priorities
- Demonstrate ability to develop policies, positions descriptions and procedures
- Given the cultural diversity of our region, the ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population is required
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job - Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality including paper, electronic formats and other mediums
- Good work and attendance record

**Conditions of Employment**:

- Completes and maintains a satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, Adult Abuse Registry Check and Child Abuse Registry Check, as appropriate.
- All Health Care workers are required to be immunized as a condition of employment in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policy.
- Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,
