**NOTE**:This is a permanent full-time position: 39 hours of work per week (based on 156 hours schedule for a period of 28 days; 12 hours shifts which will be determined by the immediate supervisor).

**SCOPE**
Reporting to Technical and Mechanical Supervisor, the incumbent operates machinery, such as boilers, chillers, fans, pumps, and other equipment necessary for the buildings’ operation and respond to various incoming calls.

**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Operate heating, ventilation, and refrigeration systems.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance and cleaning jobs on various equipment and mechanical rooms.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Diploma of Vocational Studies (DVS) and three years of related work experience.
- Stationary Engineman, Class 4 in heating and Class A in refrigeration licenses.
- Stationary Engineman, 4B plan will also be considered.
- Health and Safety course desirable.
- Basic knowledge of spoken and written English and French (Level 3) in order to read and understanding drawings, instructions, technical manual, respond to service calls and to complete forms and routine reports.
- Basic knowledge of Word (to create routine letters and memorandums), and of Excel (to enter date and print worksheets).
- Good knowledge of Facilities Management systems: Apogee (Siemens) and Orcaview (Regulvar) are definite assets.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills; customer-service orientation.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Physical ability as attested by successful completion of medical evaluation to the University’s satisfaction to (e.g. to lift and/or to pull light weights or use equivalent effort when working standing up, crawling, crouching, and climbing on a regular basis).
