Overlooking Harrison Lake, the Harrison Hot Springs Resort offers the following amenities: five mineral hot springs pools, the Healing Springs Spa, three restaurants and a coffee bar, extensive banquet and catering options, Resort Golf Course and Resort Marina.

Manages and supervises the food and beverage service of the Lakeside Café restaurant. This position is critical to the quality image of the resort by maintaining our high standards. Responsibilities include some training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems (i.e. guest, associate, kitchen).

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Sets a professional tone in the room by presenting oneself in professional business attire.
- Supervises all Lakeside Cafe associates, ensuring that they present a neat and well-groomed appearance, wear their appropriate name tags and carry out all their duties to specified standards.
- Makes eye contact with each guest as they enter the room.
- Controls the entrance door.
- Greets and seats guests, informing them of any daily specials or promotions and about the buffets.
- Managers all voids, promotions, discounts, etc. in Micros.
- Ensures all Micros billing is balanced for accounting.
- Handles reservations for Lakeside Café, if applicable.
- Assists service associates when necessary.
- Checks and maintains set service standards; food presentation (plated or buffet) and quality must be at a consistently high level.
- Brings deficiencies to the attention of the Food and Beverage and records in the log for follow up.
- Ensures that all working areas, furnishings and equipment are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness and repair by doing a walk through at least once per week.
- Prepares all necessary requisitions for supplies and equipment required.
- Walk through the restaurant and speak with guests to ensure their expectations are exceeded.
- Attends department/management meetings as required.
- Investigates all guest complaints and deals with them in a courteous and professional manner.
- Investigates associate deficiencies and coaches appropriately.
- Investigates associate issues/concerns and passes on the information to the Food and Beverage Manager or Human Resources, if necessary.
- Work harmoniously with the kitchen associates to ensure the guest meals are prepared as ordered/requested.
- Ability to resolve guest issues or concerns.
- Ability to determine and solve all billing issues.
- Some stress resulting from daily guest interactions (internal and external), budgetary, and time constraints.
- Other job related duties as assigned.

**EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED**:

- One year certificate from college or technical school; one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Serving It Right Certificate required.
- Food Safe Certificate required.
- Strong touch screen computer and POS (specifically Micros) skills.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business communications.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and log information accurately.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of Managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to accurately balance cash and credit.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Strong leadership qualities.
- Excellent public relations skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Able to lift, pull, push, carry possibly up to 30 pounds.
- Ability to stand for possibly up to eight (8) hours.
- Willing and able to work split shifts as required.
- Awareness of guest needs and environment.
- Second language an asset.
- Flexible to a changing schedule.
