Reporting to the Roads Supervisor, or delegate, the Students’ responsibilities would include:

- Operation of Pick-up truck or flat deck 1-ton truck
- Operation of hand / power tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Carrying out pre-trip inspections on all equipment.
- Roadside maintenance including; work zone traffic protection, sign maintenance, painting, etc.
- General maintenance duties (grass cutting, weed trimming, garbage collection)
- Adherence to all safety precautions and procedures required in the workplace in accordance to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, Ministry of Transportation Temporary Conditions for Road Work and policies of the Corporation.
- Must be physically capable of performing manual labour in all weather conditions.
- Must be available to work flexible shift work, if required.

Qualifications:

- Minimum Class G driver’s license in good standing with Driver’s Abstract.
- Knowledge of WHMIS and Occupational Health & Safety Act.
- Understanding of Health & Safety issues relevant to daily operations/ equipment usage.
- Ability to work with limited supervision.
- Able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Proficient time management skills and flexibility in adjusting between varieties of duties.
- Ability to deal courteously and effectively with staff, contractors and the public.

**Rate: $16.96-17.62/hour**
