**Job Overview**

The Dishwasher is a front line member of the Food Services team and is primarily responsible for maintaining a clean, safe and sanitary environment in the kitchen and dining room areas, in accordance with established cleaning and hygiene standards and guidelines. The Dishwasher will support the Food Services department by providing necessary support to the kitchen and dining room department.

**Kitchen/Dining Room Cleaning**
- Cleaning and sorting of dishes, utensils, silverware pots, pans etc. by handwashing and/or using the dishwasher
- Perform daily cleaning in the kitchen and dining room by sanitizing, sweeping, dusting and polishing throughout the kitchen, storage, cooler and dining room

**Food Services Operations**
- Provide support to the dining room by serving, clearing tables and dishes, as required
- Communicate daily with the Chef, Cook and/or Baker regarding day-to-day operations, preparation, and the tools and supplies required within the kitchen and dining room areas
- Read and record the appropriate written communications on each shift in the communications and chronological binders, memos, meeting minutes, incident reports and maintenance requests

**Health, Safety and Environmental Stewardship**
- Participate and contribute to the success of the overall safety program
- Support and abide by all safety management systems and promote a safety culture throughout the organization
- Respond to emergency situations as they arise providing appropriate follow-up and documentation as required
- Adhere to all manufacturer guidelines and safe work practices when using equipment
- Use Personal Protective Equipment and follow universal precautions
- Participate in worksite inspections, health & safety meetings and committees as required
- Contribute to the organization’s commitment to improving its impact on the environment through day-to-day operations and seeking innovative ways to be a greener organization

Undertake the performance of other assigned duties, including those specified on Job Task Lists, as required

**Requirements**:

- High School Diploma is preferred
- Previous experience working in a commercial kitchen and/or working in a supportive living facility is an asset
- Completion of a current and acceptable criminal records check for the vulnerable sector as required by the Protection for Persons in Care Act and the Accommodation Standards and Licensing Act is mandatory
- Attainment of a Food Safety Certificate is required
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and internet usage is required
- First Aid and CPR certification is required or must be attained soon after hire

**Hours of Work**
- 7:00am - 3:30pm
- 4 days on 4 days off rotation schedule including weekends and holidays
- 28 hours per week
