**Salary**: $2,771.18 to $3,622.20 bi-weekly ($72,327 - $94,539/year)

Forestry and Parks - Responsible for growing our manufactured wood products and forestry sector, preserving, and managing our public lands and protected areas, approx. 60% of the land mass in Alberta. **Role Responsibilities**:
Are you ready to take on a dynamic role at the intersection of real estate, public interest, and environmental stewardship? We are currently seeking a highly skilled Legal Analyst to join our team. As a key player in our organization, you will conduct project management for public land sales, exchanges, quitclaims, and auctions. Your responsibilities will include independently engaging with stakeholders, preparing decision reports, and ensuring that each transaction aligns with statutory requirements and departmental policies.

In this challenging yet rewarding role, you will independently handle complex real estate conveyance transactions. This includes liaising with applicants and regional officers, completing due diligence, conducting in-depth research and analysis, and collaboratively developing solutions. As the delegated statutory decision-maker, you will prepare comprehensive decision reports, ensuring that each decision is well-founded and in the public interest. Your role extends to the complete conveyance of parcels, managing financial calculations, and ensuring accurate documentation for audits and potential judicial reviews.

As a Legal Analyst, you will play a crucial role in conducting risk assessments for projects that may attract public attention. This involves preparing comprehensive briefing notes for senior management, providing a detailed analysis of decision-related issues, legislative considerations, and potential ramifications. Ensuring that all electronic project folders are meticulously organized and complete is imperative for audit purposes and potential judicial reviews. You will also be responsible for managing financial calculations related to the sale proceeds, guaranteeing accuracy and adherence to departmental financial systems. With an eye on economical use of resources, you'll oversee expenditures charged to the Land Stewardship Fund, implementing sound judgment to minimize unnecessary costs. This multifaceted role demands a keen understanding of legal, technical, and financial aspects, making your contributions pivotal to the success of our land management initiatives.

**Qualifications**:
**Required**:

- The minimum recruitment standard for this role is a university graduation in Law (LLB). Supplement by 5 years progressively responsible experience in a related field.**Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered based on**:

- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year education

**Assets**:

- Proficient in the principles of real estate, contract law, administrative or regulatory law.
- In-depth understanding of the Public Lands Act, Land Titles Act, and associated regulations.
- Familiarity with the Land Titles Procedure Manual and legal conveyancing practices in Alberta for commercial properties.
- Knowledgeable about relevant public
