The Building Systems and Sustainability department within the Marshall School of Skilled Trades & Apprenticeship requires a part-time Professor and/or Instructor to teach in the Sheet Metal Worker apprenticeship program.

Under the direction of the Associate Dean, Professors and/or Instructors in this department are responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective learning environment using a blended model of presentation in classes.

Other teaching duties may be assigned within the Marshall School of Skilled Trades & Apprenticeship on an occasional basis as required by the College.

**What you’ll be doing**:
The duties of this position include, but are not limited to:

- Creating a positive sustainable and innovative student-centered learning environment in both the classroom and laboratory settings.
- Using a variety of teaching strategies most appropriate for the curriculum and students.
- Using a variety of techniques to evaluate student achievement of learning outcomes.
- Managing the educational environment to facilitate an optimal learning experience and student success.
- Evaluating, revising and developing learning resources within the program.
- Enhancing educational delivery and experiences using the College’s MyCanvas learning management system and other technology to facilitate student learning.
- Using the College’s My Canvas learning management system to present curriculum, testing and online activities.

Other duties as assigned.

**What you’ll bring to the role**:

- Valid Certificate of Qualification - Sheet Metal Worker 308A. Red Seal considered an asset.
- Ontario Certificate of Apprenticeship, or equivalent
- A minimum of three to five years’ experience as a certified Tradesperson
- Related teaching experience, preferably in a post-secondary / apprenticeship setting, is considered an asset.
- Adult Education teaching certificate is preferred, but not required.
- Must be familiar with fabrication, layout and design, interpreting and design systems, installation of HVAC systems
- Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
- The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.
