Halifax, Canada National Angel Capital Organization Full time

**You will work closely with senior finance professionals in building a national investment platform for start-up investors. This role is new terrain for NACO and you will have opportunities to demonstrate your leadership potential.**

You will be primarily responsible for investor relations that includes interfacing with high growth companies across various sectors and building meaningful connections with the broader innovation community. To be clear, this role is equivalent to an analyst/associate role in a venture capital fund with an emphasis on ecosystem engagement.

**Role and Key Responsibilities.**

Reporting to the CEO, you will manage the planning, administration, and execution of our investor and ecosystem engagements. In your role, your strong relationship management and communication skills will intersect and complement NACO’s broader investment-related activities within the innovation economy, including but not limited to education and training for new investors and the activities below:

- You will contribute to the development of a national investment platform that will help high potential entrepreneurs gain rapid access to the funding they need to grow and scale
- Your work will include leveraging relationships to build a pipeline of high-calibre investment opportunities (targeting underrepresented regions, sectors, and founders from diverse backgrounds) in collaboration with our network of prominent incubators and accelerators, venture capital funds, and angel collectives.
- You are relationship-driven and passionate about building connections with entrepreneurs and investors
- You will engaged in deal sourcing, networking, deal evaluation and execution
- In consultation with the CEO, Director and Investment team, work on developing systems, strategies and methods to efficiently engage with a high volume of investors, entrepreneurs, and ecosystem partners to promote our activities, events, investment opportunities, including prospecting, collecting information, analyzing, and activating investment opportunities into high growth companies leveraging our membership and partner network.
- You are analytical and will dive deep into the evaluation of companies and business models
- Participate in the building of presentations, as required, in collaboration with the CEO, Director and/or other team members.
- Work collaboratively with the CEO, Director, Investment team and colleagues to create investment-related educational content for both new and established investors, including engaging with experts, partners and educational instructors.
- Execute on high-priority opportunities to engage with NACO’s established network of members, partners and key stakeholders including entrepreneurs, individual investors and venture capitalists.
- Collaborating with our research and analytics team
- Engage with investors across multiple organizations to advance regional and national deal syndication opportunities, helping high potential entrepreneurs to rapidly access investor capital
- Provide support for various initiatives to increase regional angel investment activity, facilitate the growth of early stage entrepreneurs and develop Canada’s innovation ecosystem.
