Below are the general responsibilities of the Associate. There may be additional responsibilities corresponding to the team on which the Associate is placed.
- Matching and reconciling payments (AR) to invoices on the system
- Cheque deposit and printing
- Processing payments to carriers (AP)
- Reconciling accounts
- Creating journal entries
- Analyze discrepancies and communicate them to the appropriate stakeholders
- Communicate, analyze, and research to resolve exceptions.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with client service operations team and markets.
- Contribute to a cooperative team environment in which cross functions are assumed as necessary in order to meet department deadlines and goals.
- May assist in other special projects as required
- Ability to work overtime at month-end
- Ability to go to the office at least 3 times a week
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

**Qualifications**:

- 1-year experience in accounting field preferred and/or completed courses in accounting or bookkeeping
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Minimum typing speed of 50 wpm
- Basic Excel Skills required. Intermediate preferred with ability to perform V-lookups, pivot tables
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Work under pressure to deadlines
- High degree of accuracy with a good eye for detail
- Self-motivated and proactive
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Experience in a shared services accounting environment is a plus
- Insurance Brokerage Experience preferred

Location

This position is a hybrid role, with 3 days in the office and flexibility for more if the business needs require it.
