**Overview**
The Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Manager is responsible for overseeing the pest and disease management program within the facility. This role requires a strategic approach to monitoring, reporting, and implementing pest control measures, ensuring the health and quality of plant production. The IPM Manager will work closely with other production departments to maintain a comprehensive and compliant pest management strategy.
**Role and Responsibilities**
- Pest and Disease Monitoring: Conduct detailed inspections of each location bi-weekly to identify pests and diseases.
- Reporting and Treatment Planning: Develop monitoring reports and recommend appropriate spraying, cultural, or biological treatments. Ensure pesticide rotation to prevent resistance development.
- Record Keeping: Maintain up-to-date records of all spraying and monitoring activities. Ensure compliance with audit standards for information archiving.
- Incoming Material Inspection: Inspect all incoming propagation material and complete incoming material reports.
- Biological Program Coordination: Order, manage, and coordinate the release of biological control agents as part of the integrated pest management strategy.
**Qualification**
- **Education**: Bachelor's degree in Horticulture, Plant Science, Entomology, or related field preferred.
- **Experience**: Minimum of 1 year of experience in integrated pest management or a related role in the horticulture industry.
- **Skills**: Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to maintain accurate records. Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with other departments.
- **Certifications**: Pesticide Applicator License or be willing to get one.
Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 - 40 per week
