**Niigaaniin is looking for two Labour and Maintenance Workers to support Kinoomaagewin**

**Hours: Rotating Shifts; Days, **evenings and weekends.**

**Location: 219 McCreights Road, Thessalon.**

**Niigaaniin Services in partnership with Thessalon First Nation provides food sovereignty and land base healing at Kinoomaagewin. The Labour and Maintenance workers will be providing maintenance support to Kinoomaagewin property and land.**

**PURPOSE**

Under the direction of the Kinoomaagewin Property Manager, the Kinoomaagewin Labourer performs a wide variety of duties to support Kinoomaagewin and the Kinoomaagewin Property Manager in the maintenance, safety, and upkeep of the land and equipment utilized for Kinoomaagewin.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Requirements:_
- It is preferred for the applicant to be a registered band member of the First Nations serviced by Niigaaniin Services, including Batchewana First Nation, Garden River First Nation, Thessalon First Nation, Mississauga First Nation, Serpent River First Nation, Sagamok Anishnawbek, Atikameksheng Anishnawbek, and Wahnapitae First Nation,
- Highschool diploma and/or three (3) years in a similar and related field,
- Superior oral and written communication skills, excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, and
- Must have a clear Criminal Reference Check and Vulnerable Peoples Sector Check applicable to the responsibilities of this position, and
- Valid Driver's license and access to a vehicle.
- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:_
- Knowledge and understanding of Anishnaabemowin, culture and traditions of Indigenous people of the Robinson Huron Treaty,
- Clear, concise communication and active listening to support effectively in property and project requirements,
- Strong organizational skills and ability to assist in property and project requirements,
- Strong understanding in building maintenance,
- Understanding and skill of trades; minor plumbing, electrical skills etc.
- Understanding and skill in contracting; building, roofing and structural repairs etc,
- Understanding and skill in mechanics; vehicle and equipment repair etc;
- Some knowledge in building and land health and safety;
- Ability to cope with lifting and bending,
- Ability to endure heights,
- Ability to understand instructions and carry them out reliably and efficiently,
- Familiar with community services networks and knowledge the Niigaaniin Services would be an asset,
- Ability to work in a performance-based system with a proven track record of meeting targets and outcomes is essential,
- Must be Proficient in MS Office Applications, Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and internet.
- Requires minimum supervision, able to work independently and maintains a supportive and cooperative environment with colleagues and the communities,
