Brockville, Canada Leeds, Grenville & Lanark District Health Unit Full time

Under the **Smoke-Free Ontario Act**, it is illegal to sell, supply or to give tobacco or vapour products to people less than 19 years of age. In order to reduce youth access to these restricted products, and to facilitate a successful Tobacco Control Program, theLeeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit is looking for **three (3) Test Shoppers** to work with the Smoke-Free Ontario Program in our **Brockville Office,** covering all of Leeds, Grenville and Lanark Counties. The applicants must be high school students between the ages of 15 and 17. Test Shoppers visit retail premises with Smoke Free Ontario Inspectors to establish compliance with the Smoke-Free Ontario Act.

The **Test Shoppers **will be required to:

- Approach the retail clerk and request a specified tobacco or vapour products;
- Represent the Leeds, Grenville and Lanark District Health Unit with professionalism and integrity;
- Make observations and communicate these observations to the Smoke Free Ontario Inspectors;
- Document activities, observations and events accurately.

We are looking for **high school students between the ages of 15 and 17** with the following qualifications:

- Able to pay close attention to detail;
- Have good recognition and recall skills;
- Have strong oral and written communication skills;
- Be credible, reliable, and discreet;
- Possess self-confidence and the ability to work under pressure;
- Be polite and composed;
- Be able to testify in court;
- Test Shoppers must be able to get to the Brockville Office for their shifts.

**Job Type**: Casual

**Salary**: $19.08 per hour

Flexible Language Requirement:

- French not required

Schedule:

- Evening shift
- Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Brockville, ON K6V 6C5: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
