**Job Summary**:
The Rental Yard Staff is responsible for managing the rental yard, ensuring that equipment, tools, and vehicles are properly stored, maintained, and prepared for customer rental. This role involves physical labor, inventory management, customer assistance, and ensuring safety standards are met in the yard.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Equipment Handling and Maintenance**:

- Inspect and clean equipment, tools, and vehicles returned by customers.
- Perform minor repairs and basic maintenance on rental equipment (e.g., checking fluid levels, tire pressure, or cleaning).
- Ensure all equipment is ready for rental, including proper functionality and safety checks.
- Record and track equipment usage and any damage or maintenance issues.
- **Inventory Management**:

- Monitor and maintain inventory of rental equipment and tools.
- Ensure that items are organized and stored in the correct locations.
- Assist in receiving, unloading, and stocking incoming equipment or supplies.
- **Customer Service**:

- Provide basic instructions or demonstrations on how to operate the equipment.
- Handle customer inquiries and address issues related to rental equipment.
- **Safety and Yard Organization**:

- Maintain a clean and organized yard, ensuring clear paths for vehicles and equipment.
- Adhere to safety protocols to prevent accidents, including using personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
- Monitor the yard for hazards and immediately address any safety concerns.
- Follow environmental guidelines for waste disposal, such as oil changes or used parts.
- **Loading and Unloading**:

- Load and unload equipment into customer vehicles or rental trucks.
- Operate forklifts or other equipment for moving larger items when necessary.

**Skills and Qualifications**:

- **Physical Stamina**: Ability to lift heavy items, move equipment, and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- **Mechanical Knowledge**: Basic understanding of equipment maintenance and repair.
- **Customer Service**: Strong interpersonal skills for dealing with customers and answering questions.
- **Attention to Detail**: Ensuring that equipment is in good condition and properly tracked.
- **Safety Awareness**: Knowledge of workplace safety standards and ability to follow safety protocols.
- **Driver’s License**: A valid driver’s license may be required, particularly for operating vehicles or trucks.

**Preferred Experience**:

- Previous experience in a rental yard, construction, or equipment maintenance.
- Forklift or other heavy equipment operation certification may be a plus.

**Working Conditions**:

- Typically works outdoors in all weather conditions.
- May involve some weekend or evening hours, depending on the facility's hours of operation.
- The role may involve working in a noisy environment due to the equipment.

**Physical Demands**:

- Lifting and moving heavy equipment (often over 50 pounds).
- Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods.
- Operating machinery like forklifts or other vehicles.

This role is essential for ensuring the smooth operation of rental services, as the Rental Yard Guy helps keep the equipment in top condition and ensures customers receive the tools they need for their projects.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
