The Vehicle and Equipment Management Agency (VEMA) is seeking to fill the position of Storekeeper.
Conditions of Employment:
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Must be physically capable of lifting and moving medium to heavy loads associated with storekeeping (10 kg - 25 kg or 25lbs - 60lbs)
- Must possess and maintain a valid full Class 5 Manitoba driver's licence
- Willingness to participate and obtain a Power Forklift and Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification via Air and by Ground
- Ability to travel and work for extended periods of time from various VEMA store locations (length: 3-5 days) within the Province of Manitoba
Qualifications:
**Essential**:
- Experience with clerical procedures including implementing and maintaining inventory control procedures, with proficiency using online Inventory Management Stores Systems
- Experience in shipping, receiving, sourcing, storing and distributing goods
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain a high degree of accuracy
- Experience in an automotive stock keeping operation, computer data entry and inventory procedures
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Experience and knowledge of heavy duty equipment and automotive equipment
- Strong verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with customers and clients in person and over the phone
- Strong written communication skills
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work co-operatively and constructively as part of a team
**Desired**:
- Knowledge of VEMA's products and services
**Duties**:
Duties include but not limited to: Issuing stock to meet the demands of mechanics, district staff and other government departments, receiving shipments from suppliers to replenish stock, preparing and processing of warranty claims and credit return documentation, replenishing non-inventory and stores inventory with the use of computerized procurement system and utilizing the Government of Manitoba Outline Agreements, shipping stock off locations to meet demands in the rural areas, inventory pre-listing and counting stock to conform to audit requirements, maintaining warehouse area to ensure proper warehousing standards are met, observe and maintain the Agency in-house Motor Fuel Supply System, providing back-up to other team members as required, maintaining coveralls and other clothing for Automotive Technicians, replenishing non-stock consumables as required (bolts, electrical connectors, bulbs, fuses, links, etc.), providing general training and lead-hand supervision to students or operators working in the warehouse and other related duties as assigned.
