**Loss Prevention Officer**

This position is a key position, responsible for completing any root cause analysis as well as managing the company safety program. The Loss Prevention Officer will work to reduce all incidents relating to safety, rework and production failure by working with all staff involved and producing recommended actions to reduce reoccurrence.

This person will:

- Develop coaching relationships with supervisors and managers focused on helping them define and achieve their safety culture and continuously improve their safety performance. This includes the provision of ongoing feedback to these leaders
- Acts as a resource and provides expert advice on solving issues and concerns with respect to the Occupational Health and Safety Act and company policies and procedures
- Monitor incidents, re-work and errors to determine root cause and develop corrective actions to mitigate repeating errors in the future,
- Lead the development of department procedures and policies in order to increase efficiencies, decrease resource waste and exceed customer expectations,
- Manage and monitor all safety stats
- Ensure accurate and timely reporting to the Workers Compensation Board in the event an incident or accident occurs
- Maintain and develop effective and respectful relationships with all supervisors and departments
- Promote safe work practices and injury and fatality prevention activities
- Facilitate employee safety committee and programs
- Identifies problem areas, collects information and makes recommendations for remedial action
- Coordinates and conducts safety training programs for staff and contractors
- Completes internal audits, inspections and observations to determine compliance with HSE program and also assists in external audits
- Responds to work site emergencies and work with management on emergency planning
- Implement and enforce company policies,
- Develop professional relationships and maintain regular communication with all coworkers
- Complete root cause analysis and report on results to support a reduction in company loss

- 5 years of experience in construction and/or manufacturing safety processes required,
- Job-related contacts both within or outside of the organization
- Experience with Root Cause Analysis
- Relevant Post-secondary schooling is preferred.

**Salary**: From $65,000.00 per year
