Since 1994, JGW Ltd. has provided residential group homes and day programs with the highest standard of care and compassion for adults with both physical and developmental challenges.

We operate four group homes, all located in Nanaimo, and two community inclusion programs, one in Nanaimo and another day program in Parksville. Adult residential services are provided in a safe and healthy environment with a focus on respect for the differences of everyone. We support the individuals and each other to continue to make positive differences, growth, and change. Our goal is to fully integrate individuals into their community by helping the clients live their very best life.

**We are currently looking for casual staff who can work 8am-4pm weekdays and weekends. This is an on-call position, you give an availability monthly and we call you for shifts that fit within it. Advanced scheduling will be completed where possible, preference given to those who can take shifts on short notice.**

The starting wage is $21.63/hr **plus** 10.2% paid holiday and vacation pay, paid on every cheque **($23.84/hr)**. Raises are awarded every 2000 hours to a cap of $25.19/hr at 6000 hours, as per Collective Agreement HEU. Casual workers receive 5 legislative sick days per year after 90 days of continuous employment.

Residential Care Worker Job Summary:

- To provide care and support to clients in all aspects of their daily living including: personal care, community inclusion activities and in house programming.
- To actively participate in maintaining positive communication strategies among all stakeholders within the company.
- To have the abilities and skills necessary to work as a team player.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the house.
- Meal preparation and cooking.

Job Requirements:

- 19 years of age or older
- Education or experience in health care or community support a strong asset, but not required.
- Current First Aid certificate Level 1.
- Criminal Record check
- Recent TB test (within two years)
- Hepatitis B inoculations (or waiver can be provided)
- Fluent in English
- **COVID-19 vaccine is mandatory**_
