At Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre, we have an immediate opening for a Banquet Manager If you are an experienced and dynamic individual who is passionate about Food and Beverage and exceptional Guest Service delivery, we want you

**What You Will Do**:

- Hire, train, lead, motivate and coach team members in the Banquet Department to ensure that staff receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established objectives
- Play a key role in performance management through ongoing coaching & training, the performance appraisal process, and progressive disciplinary process
- Schedule appropriate staffing level for functions. Ensure strong talent engagement and adherence to service standards and operating procedures
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure that all function specifications are communicated accordingly
- Ensure all function setups and breakdowns are executed correctly, efficiently and expeditiously. Coordinate the services of all operational departments and outside vendors to ensure a smooth and successful function
- Manage complaints professionally and take corrective actions to ensure highest level of guest satisfaction
- Forecast revenues, while controlling payroll and other relevant costs, minimizing loss and misuse in order to achieve and exceed the budgeted profitability
- Complete all required authorizations, invoices and billing for function and send to appropriate stakeholders
- Complete and submit gratuities sheet as well as labour report to payroll for staff.
- Orders and maintains relevant inventory and supplies
- Makes recommendations to improve the efficiency and quality of services and products provided by banquets

**What You Need to Succeed**:

- 2-3 years of experience in a banquet supervisor/banquet manager capacity preferred
- Post-secondary education in Tourism and Hospitality or equivalent hotel experience an asset
- Have excellent communication skills, people skills and the ability to perform professionally under pressure
- Must be detail oriented, organized, excellent time management, and multi-tasking skills
- Proficiency in computers
- Able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to work a variety of shifts inclusive of evenings, weekend and holidays
