Vdc / Bim Specialist

Dee-Jay Plumbing & Heating is an industry leading mechanical contractor in the Alberta construction market that serves commercial, institutional, healthcare and light industrial sectors. Our office is headquartered in Camrose and our installation crews work throughout the province self performing both the Plumbing and Sheet Metal trades. As our firm continues to grow our requirement for VDC specialists is expanding as well.

**About the Role**

We are seeking a person who is competent with Revit and CAD that is willing to learn and generate 3D mechanical models, spools sheets and skid packages. The successful individual will work closely with our project managers, VDC manager and shop production team to ensure a seamless transition of material from the virtual design to the physical product. As a team member you will also be interfacing with outsourced modeling team and assist with model reviews and modifications.

**Expectations**:

- Generate 3D mechanical models, spool sheets and skid packages
- Work with project managers to ensure a timely delivery of drawing packages
- Revise and update BIM/VDC models
- Interface and communicate with outsourced modeling companies
- Generate field point maps for wall/roof penetrations and mechanical hangers

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- University degree or Technical School diploma in Construction Engineering Technology, Engineering (Mechanical Preferred), Engineering and Design Technology or similar will all be considered
- History working in plumbing and/or sheet metal trade would be an asset
- Competency using BIM and VDC software, including Revit and Navisworks
- Past experience using Trimble Sysque would be an asset

**Salary**: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
