Titan Land & Cattle (a division of Titan Livestock Group of Companies) is currently looking for an energetic individual to fill the position of full time Pen Checker located at our feedlot in Niton Junction, AB.

**Responsibilities**:
- Daily pen checks to ensure animal health
- Pull sick cattle out of pen to treat
- Responsible for keeping accurate records of all treatments and returning cattle to appropriate pens after treatment
- Move treated cattle to sick pens if required or back to original pen
- Treat all cattle identified as sick using appropriate treatments
- Processing and treating include but not limited to, administration of vaccines and medications, castration or banding of bulls, prolapsed cattle, lancing of growths, dehorning, deworming
- Keep up to date accurate records of all treatments, clean and sanitize equipment.
- Assist with shipping cattle - responsible for ensuring appropriate cattle are being loaded and appropriate paperwork is supplied to trucker
- Maintain regular bedding of pens with straw or shavings
- Daily checks and regular cleaning of water bowls
- Assist with yard maintenance including repairing slab fences, wire fences, and pipe fences
- Assist with maintenance and repair of feed bunks and water bowls
- Assist with clean-up of yard, pens, roads, buildings, and fields
- Other duties/projects as assigned
**Requirements**:
- Minimum of 2 years work experience handling cattle, pen-checking, processing and treating cattle is mandatory
- Extensive experience riding horses is required
- Must be able to ride horses through pens and do pasture checks
- Must be able to perform manual physical labour
- Experience operating a UTV required
- Excellent communication and strong organization skills
- Must be self-motivated
- Must have a positive team player attitude
- Must have attention to detail

- Physically fit and able to push, pull, lift up to 50+ lbs and to bend and kneel with comfort
- Schedule is primarily 7am - 5pm including weekends and holidays. Must be flexible and able to work longer hours/days during busy seasons
- Excellent command of the English language (reading, writing, oral)
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Wage is dependent upon experience. Benefit package including extended health, dental, life, and disability available after 3 months of employment.
Niton Junction is located in rural Alberta 30 minutes East of Edson, own transportation is required.

**Experience**:
- cattle handling: 2 years (required)
- pen riding: 2 years (preferred)
- horse riding: 2 years (preferred)

- fluent English (required)
Licence/Certification:
- First Aid Certification (preferred)
