**Financial Advisor**

This Financial Advisor opportunity is located in the heart of the village in beautiful Whistler, British Columbia. Delivering senior advisory services in our unique Financial Spa, this position is responsible for fostering valued relationships with an established book of assigned clients by promoting financial wellness across all credit, investment, insurance and banking products. In doing so, the Financial Advisor will link their specialist partners in the investment and insurance areas to bring their knowledge and expertise to address clients’ needs and to develop a personal financial plan. The Financial Advisor uncovers and acts upon both short and long term needs to develop new relationships that enhance both the client’s financial well-being and contribute to organizational growth.

**Key responsibilities of this role are**:

- Proactively establishes relationships with assigned clients to advise clients/potential clients to take action to create/maintain financial wellness. Through ongoing profiling of clients/potential clients, uncovers and acts upon appropriate sales opportunities that contribute to organizational growth and enhance clients’ financial wellness. Acts as an advocate for BlueShore Financial.
- Conducts interviews with clients to clarify short-term and long-term financial goals by confirming risk tolerance levels and identifying opportunities.
- Promotes and completes the sale for a full range of deposit, investment, wealth protection and lending products within assigned portfolio.
- Grants mortgages, consumer loans and other loans within assigned lending limits for assigned portfolio. Promotes the sales of credit insurance. Makes appropriate recommendations for credit above limits.
- Promotes and sells mutual fund products.
- Identifies potential needs of clients and acts as a liaison between the clients and specialists in investments, wealth protection, and advanced tax planning.
- Proactively and effectively uses all tools available, especially our Client Relationship Management (CEM) software, to provide seamless service to clients and contribute to BlueShore Financial’s growth.
- Keeps informed on all BlueShore Financial products and services, competitors’ products and current economic conditions to help understand the impact on clients and BlueShore Financial.
- Effectively and proactively works with Advisory Associate, other team members, central support areas, and within the community to enhance relationships inside and outside the Credit Union to achieve business results. Acts as a mentor with peers and other BlueShore employees.
- Adheres to safety and security policies and procedures to protect the clients and credit union interests. Operates within transaction approval limits. Ensures ongoing learning to excel in client service. Ensures personal development plan is current. Acts upon learning opportunities to maximize contributions.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Designation or working towards an asset
- Four to six years progressive experience in the financial services industry
- Mutual Funds license
- Proven investment and credit sales

**Pay Transparency**

Pay transparency is an important characteristic of our recruitment process and overall BlueShore culture which supports a diverse, equitable and inclusive workforce.

The target base salary range of this role is $73,000 - $85,000/year. Employment offers are determined by knowledge, experience, formal accreditations and internal equity.

The total compensation for Financial Advisors includes competitive variable bonuses to reward performance in addition to base pay.

Whistler employees receive a location differential to support the increased cost of living in the area. This role will provide an additional $9,000-$10,000 per year on top of base and bonus compensation.
