Job Description

The Manager, IS Business Applications will foster close working relationships with the global competency centre managers and local business leaders. This position will have direct responsibility for managing 7 to 9 direct reports.

Responsible for successful deployment of solutions to support digital streams defined for key business processes
Define and implement the process of effective project intake and tracking. Ensure all the key stakeholders are kept informed and remain engaged
Responsible for demand management
Develop metrics and report on IS project portfolio as it relates to project health, status, variance, budgets, etc.

Complementary Description

Responsible for supporting the local business solution needs through enhancements of enterprise and site specific solutions or through the digital factory
Support the Enterprise Architecture Team in creating and maintaining current state models and future state vision and models.
Responsible for defining and managing key relationships between business partners and IS
Work closely with business partners to not only understand their needs but to proactively propose improvements
Work closely with the Digital Stream Leaders in partnership with the Global IS Competency Centre Managers to ensure that the site level business leaders are aware of the digital streams roadmaps and the site level needs are taken into account in the global roadmaps
Work with the CIO Office to define and implement the PMO framework including tools and processes
Manage the project portfolio and all associated resources

Job Requirements

Ability to manage a complex and large information systems portfolio
Application lifecycle management experience
Solid comprehension of business proceses specially in the manufacturing industry
Natural aptitude to continuously learn about new technologies and their use to create value for the business
An innovative and intrepreneurial maindset
Excellent communication skills with an ability to target communications at all levels within organization
Mentoring and coaching skills
Analytical skills
Ability to build, maintain and manage relastionship with IS providers and functional management
Leadership skills
Teamwork
Ability to manage and market the image of the IS function and it's mission
Project and portfolio management experience
Resource, conflict, negotiation and change management skills
Risk mitigation skills (focus on preventive controls, business continuity and disaster recovery strategy)
Flexibility - ability to change focus quickly and adapt to changing corporate priorities
A recognized University degree, preferred in IT, IS, Computer Science/ Business,
PMP (Desired asset)
Must be able to meet Services Canada CGR/CGP requirement to a NATO level clearance
3 to 5 years experience of direct management of professional resources
5+ years of business relationship management experience as a manager of a support function, ideally IT/IS
3 to 5 years of portfolio management experience
5+ years managing complex projects with IT components involving cross-functional teams
Strong communications skills required for interactions with target audiences at all levels of the business (End user to Technical Team to Senior Leadership Team)
Strong communication skills required for interaction with outside suppliers, customers and sub-contractors. French language skills an asset, but not mandatory
