**Job Description**:
Reporting to the Director of Emergency and Mental Health the Clinical Coordinator provides leadership and operational supervision within Emergency Department Program. The Clinical Coordinator facilitates day to day operations in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

The Clinical Coordinator will work in partnership with the Director to mentor, surprise and coach staff responsible for patient care, work with Physicians and other health care professionals across the hospital to ensure an interdisciplinary and efficient approach to patient care is achieved. Assists in operations, planning and implementation, to achieve corporate and program goals with emphasis on quality and person centered care.

The Clinical Coordinator promotes a safe patient focused environment through the implementation of evidenced-based practice, and continuous quality improvement including developing, implementing and monitoring performance indicators. Works with the Director to execute goals and objectives for the program/service areas, is responsible for patient flow, patient experience and assisting in program development through regular staff interactions and communications.

Participates with all health care team members in formulating and implementing policies, procedures and standards necessary to support excellence in clinical services. Critically analyzes and promotes evidence based practice.

**Qualifications**:

- Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- BScN or undergraduate degree required
- Master’s degree preferred or in progress with a commitment to complete within five (5) years
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ clinical experience in emergency or critical care.
- Minimum of 3 - 5 years formal leadership experience
- Computer proficiency (Microsoft Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Evidence of ongoing education and professional development related to Emergency nursing
- Evidence of leadership education and training, including Quality Improvement
- Demonstrated leadership skills & abilities
- Knowledge of the Regulated Health Professions Act, Occupational health and Safety Act, and Mental Health Act
- Regular attendance required
