**Job Purpose**

The Sport Consultant position is a commitment to focus on partnership development and support of the provincial sport delivery system. This will include assisting leadership and key stakeholders in developing and delivering sport initiatives that build capacity and relationships. As well, the position will support organizational development opportunities.

This position will work in collaboration with stakeholders to coordinate, develop, and implement objectives of, and growth in, High Performance sport.

This individual will be responsible for promoting, facilitating, and coordinating initiatives that will enhance the planning, execution, and evaluation of High-Performance activity in our provincial sport delivery system.

The consultant will be responsible for managing aspects of service and support to initiatives that advance organizational and sport system related goals. This includes administration, aligning resources, and working effectively with delivery partners.
- Knowledge and understanding of the provincial, national, and international sport delivery systems:

- Principles of Long-Term Development (LTD)
- Familiarity with the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) for Coaches
- Familiarity with National Sport System processes
- High Performance Sport planning and advising
- Familiarity with funding programs
- The ability to consult and communicate effectively.
- The ability to build and maintain co-operative and collaborative relationships with colleagues, team members, PSO’s, external stakeholders and service providers.
- An understanding of the programs, services, funding, and program delivery models used in Saskatchewan and Canada.
- A flexible mindset, open to different and new ways of doing things, and a willingness to modify one’s preferred way of doing things.
- Able to use analytical and conceptual thinking methods to modify thinking strategy situationally.

**Primary Duties and Responsibilities**
- Support the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to support the effective administration and delivery of high-performance sport initiatives across the system.
- Coordinate initiatives consistent with designed policies and guidelines, program strategies, grant processes, reporting systems and budget parameters.
- Regularly monitor and evaluate initiatives against stated goals, objectives, and outcomes.
- Develop strategies that will enhance high-performance sport delivery opportunities.
- Liaise with key stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Identify issues and develop solutions that will enhance collaboration and consistency.
- Assist with the monitoring of the provincial delivery system effectiveness and make necessary recommendations.
- Active participation on committees and boards that pertain to sport initiatives as assigned.
- Assist and support communication strategies as required.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in kinesiology, sport, culture, or recreation administration (or a relevant discipline) or a strong combination of relevant training and experience.
- Knowledge and experience in program planning and delivery, partnership development, policy development, data collection and evaluation.
- Minimum of five years' experience working in sport, culture, recreation management or a related field associated with competitive sport.
- Experience with computer software and data collection.
- Experience in high-performance sport and/or the national and international sport system an asset.

**Working Conditions**
- Full time (37.5 hours per week).
- Flexible hours. Evening and weekend work will be required.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle.
- Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
