Lower Mainland, Canada Berto Contractors Ltd Full time

Berto Contractors is an established family orientated underground civil utilities contractor based in the Lower Mainland for over 25 years. We are currently seeking two Truck Driver/Labourers to transport equipment and materials to and from Berto’s work yard, various worksites, and rental companies, as well as lending a hand to on-site field crew and offer warehouse support within the Lower Mainland.

**Major Areas of Responsibility**:

- Ensures trucks are inspected at the beginning and end of each day; flagging and reporting all defects immediately to the supervisor
- Drives trucks in a safe and respectful manner; obeys traffic laws and maintains professional interaction with others on the road at all times
- Assists Foreman with site related duties as needed
- Performs daily duties abiding by Berto’s Health and Safety manual, as well as WorkSafe BC procedures

**Qualifications**:

- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a clear Driver’s Abstract
- Completion of secondary education or equivalent
- 6 months to a year of construction industry experience is an asset.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs regularly throughout a shift
- Air Break Endorsement an asset
- Strong work ethic, team player and good attitude.
- Must be able to pay attention and adhere to rules and regulations.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic understanding of construction principles and procedures.
- Experience with small power tools, including but not limited to cut off saw, plate tamper, drill, jumping jack, pneumatic tool, shovels and rakes.

**Other Requirements**:

- Ability to work in all types of weather.
- Own reliable transportation.
- Own and maintain all PPE including, reflective vest, insulated clothing and CSA approved footwear. Hard hat will be supplied.
- Ability to work occasional nights and weekends, if necessary.
- Live within the Lower Mainland.
- Available to start immediately.
