**Compensation**:

- $120,000 to $130,000

**Responsibilities**:

- Reporting to the Board of Directors (BoD’s), the Principal is responsible for the daily operation of the school, assisted by the Vice Principal.
- Provide educational leadership for all programs and instruction of students.
- Demonstrate care for and treat with dignity and respect, the whole school community through thoughtful programs and services for all students and staff creating an inclusive and welcoming culture.
- Maintain a positive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with all stakeholders of the school community.
- Ensure that all applicable Ministry of Education policies are implemented.
- Provide overall administrative oversight of all school functions.
- Plan for Professional Development opportunities in concert with the Vice Principal.
- Ensure that the Mission, Vision and Values are consistently reinforced and exemplified by their actions and the actions of staff.

**Accountabilities**:
Educational and Program Leadership
- Maintain educational standards for all courses of study.
- Develop, implement, and monitor in concert with the relevant staff, all Ministry and school programs and services, including Ministry Inspection.
- Provide vision and direction for the Professional Development of Faculty through in-service, facilitated leadership, and support in all school activities.
- Establish and maintain a safe, positive, and inclusive culture.

**Human Resources**:
Supervision of Faculty and Staff
- Maintain the Standards of Practice and the Ethical Standards for the Teaching Profession as outlined by Ontario College of Teachers.
- With the Chairs of the BoD’s Finance and HR committees, review employment standards, policy documents and ethical practices.
- Lead crisis management including consulting legal counsel, HR consultants, mediators, counselors, etc.
- Conduct faculty and staff performance appraisal and goal planning.
- Identify leadership among the staff and develop skills for succession planning.

Staffing and Organization
- Establish a school year calendar and a timetable of classes to facilitate programs, services, and instruction for students.
- Assign teaching and extra-curricular duties to faculty and support staff.

Communication:

- Communicate all major events in the life of the school (ex. HR changes, program plans, etc.).

**Advancement**:

- Integrate philanthropy into recruitment, orientation and meetings.
- Promote fundraising.
- Support advancement leadership and decision-making on advancement projects

**Finance**:

- Alongside the Chairs of the BoD’sFinance and HR committees, develop annual budget and long-term financial.
- Plan, and manage the financial health of the school.

**Required Education and Work Experience**:

- Bachelor of Education (at least 5 years of teaching experience).
- Ontario College of Teachers Certification (or Equivalent) with Intermediate or Senior Qualifications.
- A minimum three years of experience in executive leadership.
