**Job Summary**:The Prepress Technician provides the interface between the Customer, Customer Service Department, and the press room/printing department. Files generated by customers must be reviewed so that proofs/plates can be accurately prepared in compliance with job specifications and company quality standards and ensures all prepress work meets customer timeframe requirements.

You will be responsible but not limited to performing the following tasks:

- Setup of Heidelberg prepress software and system for customizations to our workflow requirements
- Setting up policies, procedures, and best practices for prepress workflow to plates
- Manipulation, correction, and imposition of client supplied files into workflow and subsequently to plates.
- Outputting high
- and low-resolution proofs for client approval and print production.
- Review artwork for but not limited to spelling, UPC verification, template/die lines, traps, overprints, text limits, distortion, bleeding, etc.
- Make logical and creative decisions when working on complex layouts.
- Check customer’s electronic files for completeness and potential problems and identify missing or problematic components.
- Burning of printing plates
- Maintenance of workflow, CTP, and processor.
- Efficiently operate plating machines and software.
- Creation and tracking of production dockets.
- File, organize, update & archive electronic art files for easy access for future use.
- Make backups on a regular basis and organize files for safekeeping and for easy retrieval.
- Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, managers, and all preproduction personnel, to ensure timelines are met and to resolve any problems & issues that arise.
- Other duties as required.

**Requirements**:

- Experience with both Windows Server and MacOS
- Minimum of 2 years of print production experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in graphic design/prepress.
- Good to have 2 years of experience in the folding carton packaging industry.
- Strong project management experience
- Ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm and innovation.
- Strong client service attitude and leadership capabilities
- Excellent verbal and written communications and documentation skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as dockets and procedure manuals.
- Experience working with all levels of the organization, both technical and non-technical
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Detail oriented with strong documentation skills.
- Provide support outside of normal work hours when necessary.
- Participate in an on-call process.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and CAD

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $22.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
