This is a position within the Core Infrastructure and Cloud Services team interacting with the Air Canada business, other IT teams, primary vendors and service providers to fulfill our mandate to Develop and manage all infrastructure technology strategies and solutions for Air Canada's enterprise infrastructure. The technical Specialist is a strong and collaborative individual who liaise with a broad range of groups, both within Air Canada and with external IT and business partners for infrastructure technology related initiatives and architecture design. The technical Specialist has a deep understanding of technology infrastructure architecture design, provisioning and optimization with a successful track record of performance, best practices in fast changing, high pressure, and challenging roles.

**Responsibilities**:

- Deployment and Configuration: Oversee the deployment and configuration of the cloud infrastructure, ensuring compliance with SAP best practices and security standards. Set up network connectivity, storage, virtual machines, load balancers, and other required resources.
- Security and Compliance: Implement robust security measures to protect sensitive data and ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA). Implement identity and access management, encryption, and other security controls.
- Incident Management: Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues and incidents, coordinating with SAP functional teams and cloud service providers as necessary. Implement proactive monitoring and alerting mechanisms to identify and resolve issues before they impact the system.
- Disaster Recovery: Develop and implement disaster recovery strategies and plans to ensure business continuity in the event of system failures or disasters.
- Automation and Scripting: Leverage automation tools, scripting languages, and infrastructure-as-code principles to streamline the deployment, configuration, and management of the cloud infrastructure. Implement infrastructure automation workflows using tools like Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.
- Industry Trends and Best Practices: Stay up to date with the latest trends, advancements, and best practices in cloud infrastructure, SAP SaaS offerings, and related technologies. Evaluate new tools and technologies to enhance the infrastructure and optimize operations.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, SAP Certified Technology Associate) are a plus.
- 9-12 years of IT technology experience.
- In-depth knowledge of cloud computing concepts, infrastructure components, and services (e.g., virtualization, networking, storage, security) offered by major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure,).
- Strong experience in implementing SAP S/4HANA Private Cloud Edition and managing within a Hyperscaler partner/environment.
- Proficiency in infrastructure automation and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
- Familiarity with SAP Basis administration, SAP HANA database, and SAP NetWeaver stack.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues and optimize performance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
